This hands-on workshop is aimed at exposing gender inequalities within graphic design through edible statistics. After a “food for thought” introduction – in which we will sprinkle and stir ideas about infographics, pizza, and politics – we will team up to analyze the gender (dis)balance of recent and current graphic design conferences, exhibitions, and associations. Working in groups, we will turn our statistical findings into pie charts, which will take the form of real-life edible pizzas. The workshop will be concluded with a public dinner, engaging the audience in a reflection on gender disparities through an embodied and communal experience.
Through a shared vision of using the body as a vehicle to explore the deeper aspects of our Being, we have collaborated our areas of expertise together to develop a unique and creative platform in which individuals can begin to explore themselves a the medium of bodywork and movement.
We would like to invite you to a unique two and half days workshop that never happened in Basel before! A combination of basic skills of Shibari (Japanese art technique of tying) in addition to working consciously and creatively with body, mind, and psyche. Elements of fundamental human dynamics will be introduced in a safe and playful setting while enhancing your level of presence, finding stillness within yourself, using your intuition and deepening awareness through various body practices such as meditation, yoga, breathwork, movement, and contact. Safety is a key and the first thing we will accommodate as facilitators and as a group.
